Privacy Policy

Loft/Lie is a reference database of golf equipment specifications. It has no accounts, no newsletter and no contact form, and it asks you for nothing. This page describes the small amount of data that is unavoidably involved in serving a website, and the third parties involved when you click an advertisement or a shopping link.

What this site stores on your device

One thing: if you add clubs to the comparison tool, the list of clubs you selected is kept in your browser’s local storage so it survives a page reload. It never leaves your device, is never sent to this server, and clearing your browser data removes it. Nothing else is stored, and this site sets no advertising or analytics cookies of its own.

A single cookie is used to keep the site’s administrator signed in to the private editing pages. It is never set for ordinary visitors.

What the server sees

This site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, their servers process the requests needed to send you pages, which includes your IP address, the page requested, and your browser’s user-agent string. This is ordinary server operation rather than something built into this site, and Loft/Lie keeps no analytics, profile or record of your visit.

Advertising

Loft/Lie is supported by display advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve advertisements based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Shopping links

Some links to retailers are affiliate links, meaning this site may earn a commission if you buy something after following one. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Following such a link takes you to that retailer, who will apply their own privacy policy and may set cookies to attribute the referral.

These links cost you nothing extra, and they never influence the specifications published here. No price is shown anywhere on this site, and nothing is ranked, ordered or promoted on the basis of commission.

Your rights

Because this site holds no personal data about you, there is nothing for it to show you, correct or delete. Requests concerning data held by Google or by a retailer you were referred to have to go to them, since only they hold it.

Children

This site is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect information from children.
